Support for multiple traders

Under the same user account you can create multiple traders yourself. An extra euro or dollar trader, or a second exchange: you add it under Settings.

Cryptotrader still needs to know whether those traders share the same exchange account (Shared) or each have their own (sub-)account (Isolated). Only then does the balance add up: split it for Shared, or keep it separate per trader for Isolated.

Isolated or Shared

When you add a second trader on the same exchange, Cryptotrader checks the API key. If it can tell whether it is the same account, it sets Isolated or Shared itself. If it cannot tell, you get the question — on Kraken and Bitstamp.

  • Isolated — this trader has its own (sub-)account. Each trader keeps its own balance.
  • Shared — this trader uses the same account as your existing trader. Cryptotrader splits the balance.

The choice applies to all your traders on that exchange. You cannot mix Isolated and Shared on the same exchange.

Create Trader: Isolated or Shared choice when adding a second trader
Only when it is not obvious: Isolated is your own account, Shared is together.

Add a trader yourself: New EUR/BTC trader.

Benefit: several traders under one login, with a balance that adds up. You only choose when it is not clear — Isolated is yours, Shared is together.
